The North American Network Operator’s Group is celebrating its fiftieth trade show anniversary at a gathering in Atlanta, GA. The event will take place in the Lowes Atlanta Hotel (Midtown) at 1065 Peachtree St., from Oct. 3 to Oct. 6.
And NTT (News - Alert) America will be sponsoring connectivity for the event. NTT's service capabilities include fixed lines and mobile communications as well as Internet and systems integration services.
Termed the “NANOG50,” it will be the third NANOG (News - Alert) meeting in Atlanta and NANOG's eighth back-to-back meeting with ARIN, the American Registry for Internet Numbers.
The NANOG50 event will feature networking examples, tutorials, presentations and panel discussions. Plus, there will be plenty of opportunities to meet and mingle with fellow NANOG community members.
Sunday’s NANOG50 agenda includes tutorials on topics such as “IEEE (News - Alert) 802.1aq Shortest Path Bridging,” “DNSSEC Implementation Using Bind 9.7,” “BGP Techniques for Service Providers - Part 1,” “RBridges and the IETF TRILL Protocol,” ” BGP Techniques for Service Providers - Part 2.”
Days two will deal with more in-depth, specific subjects such as a riveting presentation on “The Impacts of Adding Undersea Capacity to East Africa,” “The Impacts of Adding Undersea Capacity to East Africa,” “What's Going on with Ethernet?” and “Pie in the Sky.”
And day three will consist largely of panel discussions on industry-shaking topics, such as the next generation of internet. “Panel: IPv4 to IPv6 Transition and Co-Existence Mechanisms,” will be moderated over by Lee Howard of Time Warner (News - Alert) Cable and “Panel: IPv4 to IPv6 Transition and Co-Existence Experiences” will have several moderators from various institutions.
All in all, the NANOG50 event will be a memorable one for attendees wishing to learn more about the future of the network!
