Officials of NTT America, a wholly owned U.S. subsidiary of NTT Communications (News - Alert) Corporation and a Tier-1 global IP network services provider, recently participated in Capacity Caribbean.
The event was held at the Westin St Maarten Dawn Beach Resort & Spa in Phillipsburg, St Maarten. The company exhibited at booth #3, and representatives were available to meet with members of the media to discuss the global broadband market, trends, hot issues and more, according to officials.
NTT America styles itself as a North American gateway to the Asia-Pacific region, with strong capabilities in the U.S. market: "The company provides world-class enterprise hosting, managed network, and IP networking services for enterprise customers and service providers worldwide," company officials say. It's the U.S. subsidiary of NTT Communications Corporation, the global data and IP services arm of a Fortune Global 500 telecom company, Nippon Telegraph & Telephone (News - Alert) Corporation.
In December, TMC's Jaclyn Allard wrote that NTT America hired Matt Alexander as its new East Coast channel manager. Therefore, Alexander’s six-plus years in telecommunications, working with the channel side, makes him well-suited for the position.
Alexander is moving up from his place as director of PAETEC’s (News - Alert), the largest competitive local exchange carrier, Business Development Management Program for the New York City region. Prior to his role as director, Alexander worked for ONE Communication as a channel manager, as well Cypress Communication and Trinsic Communications. These positions added to his experience as a competitive local exchange carrier and hosted IP provider.
Doug Junkins, NTT America’s (News - Alert) chief technology officer and vice president of IP development, participated in a recent panel titled “The Future of Telecommunications: Building Services on Bandwidth.” Junkins, along with an executive from Deutsche Telekom (News - Alert), discussed trends in the Global IP space.
