ARRIS recently completed its acquisition of the Motorola Home business from a subsidiary of Google (News - Alert) Inc. The combination of ARRIS and Motorola Home is believed to create a new level of vision, innovation, and expertise in network infrastructure, transport, and user experience that will transform how cable operators, telcos and broadband service providers deliver entertainment and communications experiences to subscribers throughout the world. Together, there has been an expansion of transformative solutions across the cloud, network and home.
ARRIS’s newly combined software and hardware solutions are aimed at tackling the additional complexities service providers face in today's multiscreen world – from addressing additional bandwidth constraints, to securing high-value content across multiple screens, to ensuring a consistent user experience across all devices.
The company’s multiscreen platform consists of integrated solutions that equip service providers with specialized tools for unleashing multiscreen content. Components include:

- SecureMedia Encryptonite ONE HLS+, a streamlined, cost-effective process for ingesting, transcoding and securely delivering live and on-demand content via standard HTTP methods and infrastructure
The platform comes with software for enhancing the browsing experience with personalized bundle marketing for video, music, games and applications across multiple screens, with an intelligent recommendation engine.
ARRIS has been transforming IP video delivery solutions through its various innovations like the GT-3 MBR Transcoder which supports 24 HD input channels in 1RU—enabling rich, multiscreen HD everywhere experiences from a slim, energy-efficient unit. The GT-3 enables the full range of video data rates and resolutions to cover full-size HDTVs down to small-screen phones. Also, its E6000 Converged Edge Router (CER) is noted to be a revolutionary CCAP-capable platform that delivers new levels of density and cost-effectiveness in a robust integrated architecture.
The ARRIS next-generation set of home solutions focuses on changing the model for content distribution and device management in the home, with powerful hardware that serves as the centerpiece for a new generation of services, content and devices.
The DCX3600, one of ARRIS' leading gateways, leverages IP and combines powerful hardware, software and cloud technology, to deliver multiscreen and time shift TV, while reducing energy use and maintenance. The MG5000 Series Media Gateway (News - Alert) integrates DOCSIS 3.0 high-speed data, Ethernet home networking router, MoCA 1.1, CableCARD security, multi-room HD DVR, two lines of carrier class telephony and a DLNA-compliant server into one device. The accompanying MG2000 Media Players connect directly to the ARRIS Media Gateway via the home network to extend the experience.
Also, it’s Touchstone Wireless (News - Alert) Voice and Data next-generation gateways are touted to deliver multiple home networks for carrier-class distribution of all IP video, data and voice. SBG6782, its gateway for distributing multimedia and services throughout the home combines maximum power output with MoCA connectivity for HD streaming, 802.11n Wi-Fi access point, the latest antenna technology, and dual-band concurrent radios. This enables consumers the entertainment and services they want, on their device of choice, anywhere in the home.
In other news, ARRIS mentioned that service providers using its WorkAssure Workforce Automation suite have been experiencing quantifiable gains in subscriber satisfaction and workforce productivity.
