Telecom Company Achieves Massive Time-Savings with TransNexus' Least Cost Routing

Telecommunications companies often struggle when it comes to aggregating network traffic and finding the most optimal rates, especially if they lack a proper least cost routing solution. MBC Communications, a wholesale telecommunications company and registered competitive phone company, at one time found itself drowning in the tedious task of managing rate updates and turned to least cost routing solutions expert TransNexus (News - Alert) to streamline the process.

MBC Communications’ President Jed Stafford recently spoke with TMCnet on the company’s experience with TransNexus’ NexOSS least cost routing solution and how MBC Communications achieved unmatched savings on time and costs to tackle the “man-power effort” of managing carrier rate plans.

Prior to implementing TransNexus’ solution, the task of manually managing rate updates from MBC Communications’ own network and its partner networks was a tedious, time-guzzling task. According to Stafford, his team would spend an average of 10 to 15 hours per week stacking rates by hand, which involved the repetitive and tiresome process of copying, pasting and forwarding rates in Excel.

Rather than hiring a full-time employee to be responsible for this task and continue the risk of human error, MBC Communications deployed TransNexus NexOSS solution. With the ability to easily copy and paste rate provisioning from carrier rate plans, and support for up to 100 million different VoIP routes, the NexOSS solved the company’s existing routing issues and helped MBC Communications gain back wasted hours of manually configuring rates.

Since deploying the solution almost a year ago, MBC Communications’ newly-found time has equated into expanding the business more aggressively, as well as selling, maintaining and garnering additional clients. In addition, there has been a dramatic increase in margins and traffic on the network, with the minutes all going to the right place every time.
