Recently, TransNexus (News - Alert), a company specializing in number portability, fraud detection, profitability analysis and least cost routing, updated its SDReporter quality of service and traffic reporting software to version 3.0. This latest version includes a range of fraud detection features designed to help enterprises avoid scammers targeting VoIP systems.
The company posted a video outlining the updates to the solution, highlighting the advantages of SDReporter 3.0 as compared to traditional solutions. Check out the full video here:
The video demonstrates how the SDReporter solution acts as a gateway between your VoIP equipment and the cloud, integrating with your existing Acme Packet (News
- Alert) SBC in a simple and cost-effective manner. It also demonstrates the extensive reporting available in version 3.0, such as call completion reports which include information on call success ratios, average call durations and post dial delays.
SDReporter 3.0 also features extensive quality of service reports, highlighting R-Factor, MOS, jitter, average packet loss and packet delay. From these reports, enterprises can get information from the perspective of the calling party or the called party. Since it is important to know when problems occur, the solution also features automated email and SNMP alerts so problems can be addressed as soon as possible.
There are four new features in the new version of SDReporter. These are: full redundancy, call detail records search ability, advanced CDR mediation, and fraud detection alarms. This last feature is especially important, as studies show that VoIP fraud is on the rise. Estimates place the number of VoIP fraud cases at over 83,000 worldwide in 2011, which has resulted in companies losing upwards of $150 million due to this growing problem. With the new features of SDReporter 3.0, enterprises can be made aware of VoIP fraud immediately, before it becomes a problem.
