FUSE 3 Communications is a company that focuses on meeting the technology needs of small and medium businesses in California. The company focuses on providing hosted technologies including desktop support, collocation, data backup and recovery, voice and data cabling, T1 connectivity and more. However, FUSE 3 soon realized that it was lacking in the area of telephony. So, after acquiring a session border controller, it selected TransNexus to meet its least cost routing, quality of service, and other needs.
FUSE 3 was looking for a solution that would keep costs down while providing customers with a high quality experience, including features such as voicemail, voice to email and call recording. The company selected Acme Packet’s (News
- Alert) session border controller, but it still needed a company that could provide services in the areas of least cost routing, direct inward dialed routing, quality of service, reporting and alarms and trouble shooting. That company was TransNexus (News - Alert).
“We had multiple conversations and meetings with TransNexus and their experience was a tremendous help,” said Michael Greco, CTO of FUSE 3. “With the support of the TransNexus staff we put together a detailed implementation plan and quickly deployed the TransNexus solution with our Acme Packet SBCs.”
Since TransNexus already has an exceptional relationship with Acme Packet as one of its Interop (News - Alert) Plus Partners, the company’s solutions had already obtained interoperability with the Acme Packet equipment right out of the box. FUSE 3 opted to deploy the TransNexus Routing, Operations and Billing Support System, which features the NexOSS software suite and OSprey routing server, which works with the session border controller to enable least cost routing and comprehensive reporting.
The solution works for both inbound and outbound calls, routing inbound SIP calls from the PSTN. TransNexus solution creates a routing table with up to one hundred million translations, making sure that FUSE3 never loses money on a call. TransNexus offers routing by calling and call number, time of day, day of week and jurisdictional factors.
“Since using TransNexus and Acme Packet to implement our hosted PBX (News - Alert) offering, we are able to provide an end to end solution customized to their individual business needs.” said Greco. “The TransNexus solution we implemented has allowed us to dramatically increase profits and customer satisfaction by providing us complete insight into call flow, call quality, and traffic patterns.”
