Least cost routing is extremely popular in many parts of the world, including South Africa, as a way for businesses to save money on their telecommunications bills. But even companies that are taking advantage of least cost routing solutions may not be getting the optimum amount of savings.
As discussed in a recent blog post on DuPont Telecom, it is essential that businesses update their least cost routing contracts on a regular basis. Companies that fail to do so are likely missing out on some savings.
Most companies that utilize least cost routing solutions have contracts with multiple cellular network operators since calls to the same network tend to be lower than calls between networks. Furthermore, these contracts, when not renewed, simply roll over to a month-to-month agreement at existing rates, not taking into account changes in call rates, which may have dropped.
In this case, your business may be charged at higher rates for calls to cell phones. These rates might be significantly smaller if you take a close look at your bill and contact your least cost routing provider to renegotiate your rates.
One provider of least cost routing services is TransNexus (News - Alert), which recently enabled class 4 wholesale routing and reporting for Shah Communications. The agreement provided faster and more comprehensive VoIP services including an extensive routing platform, all for an extremely affordable rate.
“Instead of losing time on troubleshooting, the TransNexus product brings up a real time notifications, so we know what’s going on with providers,” stated Kamal Shah, CEO of Shah Communications. “I see all my statistical data right on the screen. When a client calls with an issue, we actively know it and are working there. We never had this kind of internal and outer insight with all our earlier deployed products. In addition, the TransNexus solution is affordable.”
