Even when the worldwide economy is strong, companies are constantly seeking ways to save a little money here and there, whether that money is measured in dollars, Euros or pounds. And, when the economy is a bit sluggish, these small savings here and there can really add up. This is why many companies look to implement telecom savings solutions like least cost routing in order to trim their communications expenditures.
This holds true in the United Kingdom as much as it does in the United States. In fact, the Warwickshire County Council has recently let it be known that it is looking to provide “competitive telephone call charging service via least cost routing solutions, line rental to include analog, ISDN and SIP and broadband.”
This information comes in a release from the Eastern Shires Purchasing Organization, which revealed two contract notices, one from Warwickshire and the other from the Cambridge City Council, outlining plans to purchase ICT services.
The Warwickshire service may soon be opened up for use by other public sector bodies in the United Kingdom, including central government departments and educational institutions. The contract will last for two years.
The Cambridge City Council is looking to establish a contract for the support of its own ICT operational environment, including support for server operations, networks, database administration, desktops and applications.
