Least Cost Routing: Equinox' Flagship Revenue Assurance Platform Telelink Now Incorporates Enhanced Features

By Madhubanti Rudra, TMCnet Contributor

Nashville, Tenn.-based provider of cost-effective software solutions for the telecom industry, Equinox Information Systems (News - Alert) reportedly upgraded its TeleLink mediation and revenue assurance platform with the introduction of new routing assurance and analysis features.

Leveraging TeleLink mediation and revenue assurance platform, Equinox provides a full array of powerful tools to manage data for complete, accurate billing and optimized revenues. Being customizable, the clients enjoy the flexibility and cost-efficiency of buying the precise package of solutions, according to their unique needs.

In its upgraded version, TeleLink is equipped with three new tools, namely the Route Guide, LCR Optimization capabilities and LCR What-If Scenario.

Route Guide uses carrier rates to help users determine the best, most cost-effective route for calls on their networks. The system generates both domestic (intrastate, interstate, intraLata) and international route guides. Route Guides can be scheduled to run automatically at a specified time or be generated manually as needed.

The new LCR Optimization compares actual routing to optimal routing for a user-specified period of time, showing the variance between the two. This information can help users determine the actual cost impact of calls that do not traverse the primary route choice and allows them to identify opportunities to better use primary route choices.

The LCR What-If Scenario lets users analyze the cost-effectiveness and actual cost implications of inserting a new carrier into their call routing. TeleLink uses historical usage and rates to provide the variance between actual cost and prospective cost. The LCR What-If Scenario also allows users to review the cost implications of rate changes from a carrier already in the route guide.

The previous version of TeleLink included the least cost route (LCR) reports. In the enhanced version, the platform has been supplemented with enhanced route assurance functionality.

Few months back, Equinox Payments, LLC, a leading high security electronic transactions solutions provider and a portfolio company of The Gores Group, LLC, today announced that Mr. Patrick Hazel has been named Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the company. Mr. Hazel has been a member of the Equinox Board of Directors since November 2011.

Earlier this month Equinox participated in ITEXPO (News - Alert) Austin 2012  in Austin, TX. Equinox demonstrated its Business Assurance Solutions at the event’s exhibition at Booth #526, showcasing its ability to detect telecommunications fraud, validate usage revenue and expense, mediate and analyze usage data, and perform various least cost routing and network management functions.
