BroadSoft Expands its BroadCloud SaaS Platform

By Anuradha Shukla, TMCnet Contributor

BroadSoft (News - Alert) is providing Mobile Operators with managed service delivery of converged messaging, presence, media sharing, voice and video calling.

The company has added Rich Communications Services (RCS) to its BroadCloud Software-as-a-Service (SaaS (News - Alert)) platform to this end. BroadCloud RCS delivers several benefits like speeding time-to-market, cutting down deployment costs and integration complexity.

BroadSoft provides software and services that enable mobile, fixed-line and cable service providers to offer Unified Communications (News - Alert) over their Internet Protocol, or IP network.

The company notes that both RCS and RCS-e (Rich Communications Suite-enhanced) enable interoperable enriched communication between a variety of mobile and other IP devices and networks.

Also, businesses can deploy BroadCloud RCS in either IMS or non-IMS network environments.

“BroadCloud RCS significantly reduces risks and costs associated with a service provider's RCS deployment, so they can go live quickly with advanced communications services that include integrated multimedia and messaging solutions,” said Scott Hoffpauir, chief technology officer, BroadSoft.

BroadSoft provides the required IMS functionality as an integral part of the managed BroadCloud RCS solution for non-IMS networks and this enables users to deliver the RCS user experience quickly and cost effectively.

BroadSoft's core communications platform offers an extensive range of consumer and business communications applications. The company is extending its Telephony Application Server (TAS)/VoLTE platform to provide comprehensive IMS application layer support in global IMS deployments by providing a cloud-based delivery model for RCS.

BroadSoft was in news last month for introducing a new global peering program that is enabling its service provider customers to deliver high-definition (HD) voice and video calling beyond their existing network footprint.
