Acme Packet Rolls Out Palladion for Enterprise Communications Networks

By Jyothi Shanbhag, TMCnet Contributor

Acme Packet (News - Alert), a specialist in session delivery networks, has unveiled Palladion Enterprise for real-time monitoring, troubleshooting and analysis of enterprise voice over IP (VoIP) and unified communications (UC) networks.

This solution is a boon to enterprises to efficiently and securely deploy IP networks, decrease operations costs, increase user satisfaction and prevent voice fraud. It offers dashboards and metrics offering a high-level overview of the network, enabling enterprises to reduce operations costs, increase user satisfaction and detect voice fraud.

“Over the last year, Acme Packet has continued to expand its enterprise portfolio to include new solutions and functionalities in both physical and virtual environments for small and medium businesses as well as Microsoft (News - Alert) Lync users,” said Pat MeLampy, chief technology officer, Acme Packet.

“By also applying what Acme Packet has learned in monitoring and managing the most complex, heterogeneous, high scale service provider networks in the world, Palladion Enterprise, along with our SBC and session management offerings, can provide a comprehensive solution for the enterprise.”

Palladion Enterprise comes with two new enterprise solutions: Communications Operations Monitor to offer visibility to the network along with troubleshooting capabilities in real-time and Fraud Detection and Prevention to identify and guard against voice fraud.

Palladion framework utilizes vendor-neutral network probes to monitor any VoIP network. The probes are available as a software component integrated into Acme Packet’s enterprise session border controller, the Net-Net Enterprise Session Director, or on third-party hardware – resulting in reduced complexity and total cost of ownership.

“Acme Packet’s Palladion Enterprise simplifies the process of implementing a solution for protecting and monitoring networks by enabling probes on the E-SBC, which is already a vital part of VoIP and UC networks," said Lynn Smurthwaite-Murphy, SVP, U.S. and Canada, Westcon Group (News - Alert).

Based in Bedford, Massachusetts, Acme Packet designs and manufactures its products primarily in the USA, selling them through over 330 reseller partners worldwide.
