More companies and people are turning to the cloud for the benefits it offers, such as reduced costs, more mobility, flexibility, increased storage and its automation. The public Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) cloud market consists of both clouds and the cloud platforms behind them. Today, there are many cloud platforms to choose from, all of which, in one way or another, help developers build and deploy their applications to the cloud.
Host Virtual, a cloud hosting provider that operates dual-stack IPv4 and IPv6 IaaS clouds worldwide built around scalability, self-service and ease of use, unveiled its fourth generation public cloud platform. The release builds on Host Virtual’s years of experience operating public self-service clouds through three previous generations and incorporates over 1000 backend and frontend changes and improvements.
The Host Virtual public cloud, available in the U.S., Europe and South Asia, allows customers to deploy servers in a minute with dual-stack, IPv4 and IPv6 capabilities. More than 200 pre-built operating system and appliance images are available. Host Virtual differentiates itself by using robust virtualization technology to power its hypervisors, along with custom developed interfaces and management tools to provide a seamless end user experience.
“We’ve received a tremendous amount of positive feedback from our customers with this launch” said Sandy Bhargavi, senior vice president of Host Virtual, Inc., in a statement. “Because we control our stack, we’re able to innovate in unique ways that really benefit our customers.”
Existing customers can already take advantage of the new release by logging into their self-service portal.
Many cloud providers resell or use off-the-shelf solutions, providing limited flexibility and vendor lock in. For managed services and dedicated cloud customers, the Host Virtual platform can be used with all leading virtualization technology and backend platforms.
Combined with advanced tools and services such as BGP AnyCast, load balancing and worldwide CDN support, Host Virtual provides a seamless IaaS base for its customers.
In addition to its public cloud options, Host Virtual offers BGP Cloud hosting, geared toward enterprises and service providers with existing networks and IPv6; Dedicated Private Cloud, which allows users to create their own packages and deploy an unlimited number of instances within their resource pool; managed cloud hosting for as little as $0.20/hr per server; white label and on-premise clouds, designed specifically for enterprises and service providers; and cloud consulting services.
