Carrier Cloud Voice Solution Reduces Cost, Enhances VoIP Service

In partnership with cloud voice provider Alianza, global communications service provider Level 3 Communications (News - Alert) has launched a Carrier Cloud Voice solution that enables service providers to simplify their service model and expand revenue from voice services delivered to business and residential broadband subscribers. According to Level 3, it is now providing a complete outsourced voice solution for service providers that are looking for ways to add voice but avoid any significant upfront investment and ongoing operational costs.

Level 3 believes that the Carrier Cloud Voice solution will enable established service providers with existing voice services, such as wireless carriers, master agents and cable MSOs, to outsource voice network and service management and focus capital and resources on growth strategies.

Cindy Whelan , principal analyst at Current Analysis (News - Alert), said, “For communications providers expanding in today’s market, adopting a cloud-based voice platform solution can reduce costs and allow them to concentrate resources around more critical core business activities. Level 3′s carrier cloud voice solution is an attractive hosted VoIP platform enabling communications providers to accelerate the time to market while avoiding onerous capital investment costs and minimizing the operating costs associated with operating a carrier-grade voice service.”

Likewise, Shaun Andrews , Level 3′s senior vice president of Global Voice Services, thinks that this complete, carrier-grade solution will allow service providers to reliably realize the benefits of a cloud-based model. “With several key customers already purchasing our joint solution, we know this value proposition resonates in the marketplace,” commented Andrews.

Moreover, the robust offering combines Level 3′s Enhanced Local Service and Alianza’s (News - Alert) Cloud-based Voice platform, which includes a hardened set of APIs for back-office integration, billing and service management. Utilizing Level 3′s established broad and reliable U.S. local voice network, industry-leading VoIP numbering and interconnection platform, as well as its deep industry relationships; the advanced capabilities will significantly benefit voice subscribers.
