Networking services are facing a real challenge today. With so much competition out there, customers have a myriad number of choices available to them, and can be a fickle bunch. That’s why an announcement out of Portland, Ore., is generating a lot of buzz. Bigleaf Networks says it has entered into a channel partnership with Telarus (News - Alert), the value-added distributor of network, unified communications (UC), and cloud services.
According to a release from both companies, Bigleaf is an intelligent networking service that “optimizes Internet and cloud performance by dynamically choosing the best connection based on real-time usage and diagnostics.” Those offerings will be of high interest to Telarus customers. The partnership will provide Telarus' nationwide network of sales partners new access to Bigleaf's technology, which improves the performance of VoIP services and cloud-based applications by way of intelligent load-sharing across multiple Internet connections.
“Bigleaf is a strong addition to our family of suppliers,” said Patrick Oborn, Telarus co-founder. “Our partners are excited to deliver intelligent networking services and to use VXSuite to monitor the performance of the entire ecosystem. This is a conversation-changer for our partners,” he added.
Oborn is justified in being enthused, as Bigleaf's plug-and-play managed service offering includes:
- Intelligent load-balancing across multiple Internet paths from different ISPs;
- Quality-of-Service (QoS) capability to prioritize VoIP and other latency-sensitive traffic over commodity Internet;
- Same IP failover capability to allow for uninterrupted VoIP and virtual desktop sessions while moving between circuits;
- Real-time intelligence on circuit latency, packet loss, jitter and throughput.
John Hogan (News - Alert), VP of Partner Sales and Business Development at Bigleaf, was equally spirited about the announcement.
"Working with a top-tier, national distributor like Telarus significantly broadens the reach of our offering," Hogan said. "Our optimization service is a perfect addition for any telecom agent or IT consultant looking to provide a more stable platform for the migration of their customers' critical applications to a cloud-based architecture.”
