For some people, ramping up their business can sometimes be likened to preparing for war. You need to train your troops, set out a battle plan, and be ready for anything unexpected. It’s not a bad way to get everyone mentally ready, and it could lead to a more successful outcome.

That may be one reason why Telarus (News - Alert) – a technology services master agent that holds contracts with more than 50 data, voice, and cloud providers – has signed on a genuine war hero to give the keynote at its upcoming conference.

U.S. Army Green Beret Captain Ronald Fry, author of the book “Hammerhead Six” about his work leading a team of special forces to pacify the dangerous Pech Valley in Afghanistan in 2004, will be the main speaker when Telarus hosts its fifth annual partner summit, again this year at the Stein Eriksen Lodge in Deer Valley, Utah.

“We are very excited about this year’s partner summit,” said Adam Edwards, CEO of Telarus, in announcing Capt. Fry’s appearance. “Our partners will have the privilege of hearing from one of the few American commanders who can say they know what it’s like to win the hearts and minds of the Afghan people and deny the Taliban weapons and much-needed recruits. The lessons he learned on the battlefield can be applied to our partners in a number of different ways.”

This year’s conference will also welcome the partner channel of VXSuite -- a network analytics company Telarus purchased in 2015 -- for the first time in a combined conference setting.

“We are also very excited to welcome the staff and partners of VXSuite,” noted Patrick Oborn, co-founded of Telarus. “This is the first Partner Summit that will include breakout sessions specifically addressing VXPulse network monitoring, VXSupportLine, [which are] VoIP self-diagnostic tools, and our ability to support our partners on hybrid (premise and cloud) UC projects. Our partners will learn how to be heroes to their clients.”
