Metro Ethernet provider FiberLight’s president and COO Kevin B. Coyne has been named to the Telx Service Provider Advisory Committee.

Coyne was also re-elected to serve on the COMPTEL (News - Alert) board of directors, as well as on the board of the Georgia-Alabama Chapter of the National Kidney Foundation.

Telx specializes in offering interconnection, colocation and business exchange services in North American markets. Its newly created committee aims to provide insight into business, IT and networking requirements.

This committee also aims to provide direction for the future of Telx and feedback for improvements to customer service and satisfaction.

“Our goal as an organization is to achieve excellence in the way we meet the expectations of our customers and partners throughout our organization,” said Eric Shepcaro (News - Alert), Telx CEO. “Kevin has the business acumen and technical insight needed to be a great addition to this committee, which is committed to excellence through the development of success strategies to improve and promote our business.”

Kevin Coyne was served FiberLight (News - Alert) as its president and chief operating officer since 2008. He earned a master’s degree in Taxation at University of Baltimore and a bachelor’s degree in accounting at Towson State University.

Coyne is a Certified Public Accountant and a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.

“It is an honor to be named to the Telx advisory committee,” Coyne said. “As a carrier-neutral company, it is vital that we pave the way to service excellence across the board through participation in committees and forums that benefit the telecom industry as a whole.”

FiberLight recently deployed its flagship LightSource Ethernet platform at Scott & White Health Plan’s new facility in Temple, Texas. LightSource Ethernet platform will be used to connect Scott & White Health Plan’s Temple facility to Clearview’s Data Center in Waco, Texas. Scott & White Health Plan is the insurance division of Scott & White, a leading multi-specialty healthcare system in the U.S., serving more than 220,000 members.
