Online payment solutions provider BOKU announced it is offering mobile payment services to Sprint (News - Alert) customers. BOKU’s partnership with Sprint allows Sprint customers to charge online purchases to their Sprint wireless bill through a simple and secure authorization process.
"This agreement is a welcome expansion of BOKU's direct carrier relationships here in the U.S." said BOKU president, Ron Hirson, in a statement. "Most importantly, Sprint is focused on the future and strongly believes in empowering developers to drive innovation in the market. They focus on providing developers with the best tools and an industry-leading network.”
Customers can make purchases online from BOKU's vast network of merchants including game developers, service providers and social networking companies. To name a few are Electronic Arts, Riot Games, Jagex, Stardoll, Kingisle and Gaia Online.
Services can be purchased using Sprint phone or tablet or an alternate device such as home computer. Once the purchase is made, the buyer authenticate the payment and the charge will be reflected on their monthly Sprint billing statement. The service is secure as customers do not have to disclose any confidential information like credit card number or bank account details.
“Sprint is committed to giving our customers safe and secure options for making purchases using their wireless device, whether it is through direct carrier billing or using a mobile wallet,” said Fared Adib, vice president of product at Sprint, in a statement. “Adding mobile purchasing with BOKU will allow Sprint customers to continue to charge online digital purchases from more merchants right to their monthly Sprint bill."
Earlier this year, BOKU announced that, leading Payment Service Provider (PSP), WorldPay has selected BOKU as its global mobile payments partner, integrating BOKU's payments platform into its payment network.
