Norton Rose Group, an International legal practice, has recently begun using mobile device management solutions powered by MobileIron, in order to make sure employee and corporate-owned smartphone and tablet devices are highly secure when adopted into the enterprise environment.
According to a press release, the solutions that are provided by MobileIron enable each member of the organization to maintain duplicate, secure and compliant access to corporate email and information while working remotely from any location, and simultaneously helping to create a more interactive working environment.
Along with IT partner Esselar, Norton Rose quickly realized that MobileIron could offer the company the innovative, accessible security and management capabilities they had been longing for, without altering the user experience in any way.
Vlad Botic, technology innovation manager at Norton Rose Group, said, “MobileIron had several clear advantages. We have the security and management features we needed in a platform that also preserved the user experience. All new devices were going to be employee-owned so it was also important to have a way to draw a line between personal and corporate data.”
MobileIron boasts the ability to fully support a multi-OS environment, which helps Norton Rose to easily manage its employee-owned devices and its corporate-owned BlackBerrys from one platform. In addition, MobileIron’s Enterprise App Storefront allows IT to deliver mobile apps directly to employees, which allows for crucial tools to be used in daily business operations.
Norton Rose has plans in the near future to offer these solutions to five distinct regions including: Dubai, Hong Kong, Frankfurt, Paris and Singapore.
“As we roll out MobileIron internationally, the ability to finely tune policy settings will be essential,” said Botic. “Compliance regulations vary widely from country to country. With MobileIron, we can provide each region with the basic platform and then let them localise it, deploying the policies they need to comply with local regulations. User reaction to the initial deployment has been extremely positive. Employees feel more connected and it is easier to accomplish what needs to be done when working remotely.”
