Matrix42 Introduces Mobile Device Management Solution for Complete Management of Physical, Virtual and Mobile Endpoints

By Madhubanti Rudra, TMCnet Contributor

Matrix42 hast just unveiled its Matrix42 mobile device management (MDM) solution. This new product allows for workplace operations to be easily managed in all forms of end-user computing devices including physical, virtual and mobile.

The proliferation of smartphones has led to a much greater mobile work-culture, where a majority of employees use their personal devices to download corporate data. Today, businesses are becoming overwhelmed with the challenge of standardizing security, protecting sensitive corporate data while simultaneously meeting compliance standards across all devices.

According to Gartner (News - Alert), “Enterprise MDM software is evolving to offer smartphones (and other devices) support across a variety of platforms. Enterprise MDM software products and services help enterprises manage the transition to a more complex mobile computing and communication environment by supporting security, service, software and inventory management across multiple OS platforms, primarily for handheld devices like smartphones and tablets.”

This newly released mobile device management solution has the capabilities needed to centrally manage the entire mobile device lifecycle, including deployment, security, monitoring and management. Matrix42 MDM also supports, and complements Matrix42's virtual desktop management solutions, the company stated in a press release.

The solutions with multi-tenant architecture are designed to help the enterprises and service providers protect their virtual infrastructure and desktops alongside the physical devices through a single platform. Its cross-platform flexibility can help organizations to simply manage a diverse fleet of Apple iOS, Android, BlackBerry (News - Alert), Symbian and Windows Mobile phones, regardless of operating system, carrier, network or location.

“Users want autonomy over the physical devices they use, while IT needs to maintain control. Mobile device management and virtual desktop management go hand-in-hand, giving IT the ability to support BYOD and manage all environments. With this new offering, Matrix42 is now the only company to fully deliver and manage a truly dynamic workplace,” CEO of Matrix42, Herbert Uhl noted in a statement.
