InformationWeek Reports Releases Mobile Device Management Buyer's Guide

By Rajani Baburajan, TMCnet Contributor

InformationWeek Reports, which provides services to peer-based IT research and analysis, has recently released the Mobile Device Management Buyer's Guide. The guide, written by Jim Rapoza, encompasses the analysis of nine top mobile device management vendors and helps readers in making the right choice for their specific company needs.

The easily downloadable guide contains an in-depth MDM Buyer's Guide Report as well as three comprehensive features charts covering administration, security, platform and reporting functionality. It also includes responses from leading mobile device management vendors that include Absolute Software, AirWatch, Fiberlink Communications, JAMF Software, MobileIron, Odyssey Software (News - Alert), Symantec, Tangoe and Zenprise. Additionally, the guide offers a questionnaire so readers can solicit information from their vendors of choice.

"IT teams are scrambling to keep up with the influx of mobile devices, of all types and platforms, both company and personally owned," said Lorna Garey, content director of InformationWeek Reports, in a  statement. "A policy is important, but for IT to put teeth into rules absolutely requires mobile device management technology. Without it, you're flying blind."

Moreover, the mobile device management guide also discusses the similarities and differences among MDM products outlining essential features, such as the ability to manage devices remotely, archive communications records, back up content, integrate with enterprise directories and perform geo-location tracking.

In related mobile device management news, MobileIron provides a solution that can integrate data-driven smart mobile device management with real-time wireless cost control. MobileIron's VSP enables companies to easily manage device operations through the use of Advanced Management, cuts costs through eliminating bill shock, usually caused by international roaming—all while enhancing the overall user experience.
