Echoworx Signs Reseller Partnership with Mobile Device Management Provider Mformation

By Rajani Baburajan, TMCnet Contributor

Echoworx (News - Alert), a provider of managed encryption services for complete enterprise e-mail and data protection across all platforms and devices has formed a reseller partnership with Mformation (News - Alert), a global provider of mobile device management (MDM) technology.

According to Michael Ginsberg, chief executive officer for Echoworx, mobile security has become a major focus as employees continue to embrace the Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) trend, causing organizations to try and secure the explosive growth of corporate information now being accessed by mobile device users.

Under the terms of the reseller partnership, Mformation will be adding Echoworx's mobilEncrypt ENDPOINT solutions for mobile to its mobile device management offerings. With this alliance, the companies hope to bridge the gap between mobile device management and encryption solutions for their customers.

By leveraging the Echoworx Platform, users can download and activate encryption applications without having to retrofit devices or go through complex setups, while the Mformation Enterprise Manager enables MSPs to provide a secure, customized mobile device management environment to their enterprise customers. This solution provides enterprise IT managers with direct control of the handsets used by their employees, ranging from the latest Android and iOS devices to other smart mobile devices and computing devices.

With mobilEncrypt ENDPOINT, iPhone, iPad and BlackBerry (News - Alert) users can compose, send, download and receive secure, encrypted messages through their existing business e-mail account. The application creates a native e-mail experience, so it does not require additional components.

Additionally, IT managers can assign user credentials, as well as revoke or suspend them if a device gets lost or stolen.

"Mobility is maturing into a business-critical part of the enterprise. Device management, security and encryption are core components of the enterprise mobility solution space," said Todd DeLaughter, Mformation's chief executive officer, in a statement.

“The combination of these solutions ensures that data on the mobile device is both secure and able to be managed,” DeLaughter added. “This is a compelling offer for enterprises as well as for organizations that serve the enterprise, such as Managed Service Providers."

Mformation solution works across all key mobile device platforms used in the enterprise, helping enterprise customers manage all phases of the mobile device and application lifecycle.
