Fiberlink, a company specializing in various Software-as-a-Service (SaaS (News - Alert)) services geared toward mobile management, was recently selected as the Magic Quadrant leader of 2012 mobile device management software by Gartner, Inc.
According to a press release, Magic Quadrants are research reports issued by Gartner (News - Alert) that target the IT market. Customers in this market use the reports for evaluations and purchases.
Fiberlink includes two SaaS services geared for mobile users, which include mobile device management (MDM) and mobile application management (MAM). These services won out Gartner.
According to the release, “Fiberlink was selected into the Leaders Quadrant based on specific criteria, including the ability to execute on factors such as customer experience and product, as well as completeness of vision, including market understanding and innovation.”
Finberlink's hallmark product is called the MaaS360. It is a mobile management platform, and you can read more about what it offers here. The product targets IT professionals in a workforce environment where mobile devices are in use. Supported devices include smartphones, tablets and laptops.
According to Gartner, the idea behind Magic Quadrants is to position technology players within specific markets. They are also evaluated based on their vision or promises to consumers. “By applying a graphical treatment and a uniform set of evaluation criteria, a Gartner Magic Quadrant quickly helps you digest how well technology providers are executing against their stated vision.”
