From the phrase “BYOD” to the surge of corporate issued smartphones, one message is resounding loud and clear in the marketplace – the mobile IT revolution is upon us.
And if you don’t believe us then just take a second to stop and look around. Notice how everyone on your commuter train to work is finger tied with his/her smartphone, tablet, iPod, and Kindle? What about the fact that when you actually get to work more than half of your co-workers have two cell phones – one for business and one for personal use. And how about those people who go to restaurants, concerts, vacations, and even the drug store with their trusty cell phone seemingly glued to their palm? It seems like no one can get away from the mobile revolution that is unfolding rapidly.
But why should they? After all, the mobile IT revolution is successfully changing the course for the 21st century worker, helping enterprises grow rapidly. Moreover, the workforce is becoming more mobile which leads to reduced costs and increased productivity and apps are being unveiled virtually every day which enhance worker capabilities.
For those that want more on the topic, iPass (News - Alert) and MobileIron – two companies who tout themselves for being at the inflection point in the growth of enterprise mobility – are holding a free webinar event titled, “Managing the Perfect Storm of Mobile IT.” Taking place tomorrow, Thursday, May 24, at 10 a.m. PT/1 p.m. EST, the webinar will feature Evan Kaplan, CEO of iPass, and Bob Tinker, CEO of MobileIron.
