MobileIron's Mobile Device Management Solution Supports INPS' BYOD Initiative

By Rajani Baburajan, TMCnet Contributor

Today, mobile device management provider MobileIron has revealed that In Practice Systems (INPS), a supplier of clinical software solutions, has deployed MobileIron’s solution in order to secure and manage its corporate mobile devices.

With the Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) trend gaining relevance in enterprises like INPS, mobile device management has quickly become more crucial than ever before. Luckily, MobileIron’s innovative solutions provide a much higher level of visibility over corporate devices as well as the foundation for the secure use of mobile applications.

With MobileIron’s mobile device management solutions in place, organizations can rest assured they will remain highly secure and safe from cyber attacks when utilizing mobile apps.

“We’re a company that seeks to let staff work the way they want to work. It’s hard to say ‘no’ to employees asking to use their own devices - especially if that employee happens to be an executive,” said Angelo Chysanthou, head of Information Systems, at INPS, in a statement.

“From an IT perspective, I’ve learned over the years that if I don’t provide a solution, that employee will find their own way onto the network,” Chysanthou added. “MobileIron offered us a way around this.”

The mobile device management is enabling INPS to offer its workforce a revolutionary way to use their personal devices including iOS, BlackBerry (News - Alert), Android and Windows Phone for corporate use.

MobileIron was recommended by INPS’ technology partner Appurity. By deploying the offering powered by the mobile device management provider, the company opened up its network to a broad range of devices.

With a secure BYOD program in place, INPS will continue to provide BlackBerrys to 50 percent of employees who need mobile access but are using personal devices to access the corporate network.

“We now have the capabilities to enforce policies and restrictions across virtually any end client coming onto the corporate network,” he concluded. “Now fully up and running with BYOD, we are expecting to have more than 10 percent of our workforce bringing their own devices, which we will secure with MobileIron.”

In related news, TMCnet recently reported that MobileIron was the winner of the 2012 SC Award Europe for Best Mobile Device Management.
