Tangoe Mobile Device Management Now Supports iOS 6

By Rory Lidstone, TMCnet Contributing Writer

Tangoe (News - Alert) Inc., a global provider of Communications Lifecycle Management (CLM) software and related services, announced management support this week for the latest version of Apple's mobile operating system, iOS – in time for the release of the latest version with iPhone (News - Alert) 5.

As such, the company's multi OS Mobile Device Management (MDM) software will enable businesses to easily and securely activate, deploy and manage iOS 6 devices and apps.

"The highly anticipated release of the iPhone 5 and iOS 6 will significantly increase requests to support Apple (News - Alert) devices company-wide, allowing employees to access corporate data and e-mail on their newly purchased personal devices," said Wayne DeCesaris, senior vice president of Managed Solutions at Tangoe. "Tangoe MDM simplifies an increasingly complex multi-platform mobile environment and delivers the security, control and cost efficiencies necessary for organizations to remain ahead of the constant flow of new devices and operating systems entering their organizations."

With the increasing adoption of BYOD, and the IT concerns that go along with supporting a wide range of consumer devices, Tangoe MDM's new enhancements allow enterprises to seamlessly manage iOS 6 devices, application deployments and device usage.

Furthermore, iOS 6 Mobile Device Upgrade Support allows businesses to easily manage iOS devices that upgrade to iOS 6 as well as handle the iPhone 5 – including support for the iPhone Configuration Utility.

Tangoe also boasts improved iOS Mobile Application Management, as Tangoe MDM is capable of updating all application lists across the entire iOS device fleet in real time. Meanwhile, the new Apple Push Notification Service (APNS) Certification Expiration E-mail feature eliminates the potential for iOS disruption as Tangoe MDM sends an e-mail notification to IT administrators 30 days prior to the APNS certificate expiry.

Tangoe's comprehensive CLM solutions also include Real-Time Telecom Expense Management (rTEM), which allows the end user to receive critical real-time usage information, proactively managing mobile usage costs.
