Almost immediately after the release of Apple’s (News - Alert) iOS 6, AirWatch has assured the market of full support in Mobile Device Management (MDM), Mobile Application Management (MAM), Mobile Content Management (MCM), Mobile E-mail Management (MEM) and Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) management for devices running on the operating system (iPhone (News - Alert), iPod Touch and iPad devices).

The innovative features unique to the iOS 6 include Siri and Passbook improvements together with renovated photo, mail, phone and map applications. Additional capabilities that allow third party software to interface more intimately with the Os are the new integrated MDM benefits.

 The MDM solution from AirWatch (News - Alert) manipulates iOS 6 to enable bodies of interest to disable shared photo streams, Passbook display on the screen of a locked device, enable automatic removal of profiles after a given time frame, set device wallpaper for lock screen, home screen or both and prevent recent contacts from synchronizing with your e-mail server.

In addition to this, there will be additional MDM capabilities that will only be applicable to devices configured in the supervised mode with the Apple Configurator. These will include; locking down a device to one app with the App Lock feature and disabling the home button, forcing all device connectivity to channel through a global HTTP protocol, prevent installation of certificates or unmanaged configuration profiles and disabling iMessage, GameCenter and iBookstore. This will also come with a content rating restriction for iBookstore.
