MobileIron, a mobile device management specialist, has formed a partnership with ForeScout Technologies, a provider of real-time network security solutions for Global 1000 enterprises and government organizations, to ensure security in enterprise BYOD environments.

The companies have combined the MobileIron platform with ForeScout CounterACT to deliver unified visibility and comprehensive control across mobile devices, users, applications, data and network attributes.  The seamless integration is powered through ForeScout Mobile, which is an add-on module to ForeScout CounterACT, the company’s award-winning network access control (NAC) platform

The combined solution delivers a number of capabilities to help enterprises meet emerging BYOD requirements including a security automation feature that dynamically detects unmanaged devices such as iPads, iPhones and Android (News - Alert) devices attempting to connect to the corporate network in real-time.

Moreover, enterprises will now be able to easily automate a variety of network and device-based controls such as allow, block/quarantine, limit, enroll as guest, segregate and initiate device compliance inspection. It also provides seamless on-boarding workflow of MobileIron’s MDM agent on unmanaged devices through a simple self-enrollment process.

The integrated solution even boasts the capability needed to quickly detect jail broken and rooted devices. It can then block or limit network access until the issue is remediated. It powers over-the-air device configuration and corporate app catalog management to instantly provision access to corporate e-mail, WiFi (News - Alert), VPN and enterprise recommended and required applications in addition.

Other key capabilities of the integrated mobile device management solution include strong encryption keys, enforcement of passcode policies, mobile application blacklisting, selective wiping, the locking of devices remotely, and more.
