In a recent infographic from Go-Gulf.com, it was revealed that nearly 80 percent of humans now own a mobile phone, with 91.4 million smartphones currently being leveraged on U.S. soil alone. In fact, nearly nine out of 10 smartphone users turn to their phone on at least a daily basis and a larger margin of Android (News - Alert) users are touted as being under the age of 34 when compared to the average age of iPhone users.
As the use of mobile devices such as smartphones and tablets continues to increase for both personal and business use, enterprises are being forced to reevaluate their mobile device management strategy in order to remain protected from potential cyber attacks. While enabling employees to access confidential data on-the-go, it is essential to have policies in place that govern what is and what isn’t considered acceptable end-user behavior.
Luckily for organizations in nearly every vertical, MobileIron is here to the rescue, kind of like Superman minus the cape and plus some robust products, and will be sponsoring an upcoming webinar that will explores the ways in which its wide customer base are leveraging their Android device of choice while still powering a high level of security within the corporate environment.
Slated to take place on February 21, 2013 at 9:00 a.m. PST, the California-based mobile device management provider will be highlighting several topics ranging from implementing regulations that will keep all apps, content and data fully secure on Android devices and ways in which to eliminate the amount of gadget-related calls being made to IT help desks, to how to utilize enterprise e-mail without leaving any room for a cyber attack.
Additionally, the not-to-miss event will encompass a live demo of exactly how MobileIron’s technological innovations work, with technical experts there ready and waiting if any issues or questions happen to arise.
Besides making it a priority to enlighten the public in regards to the sheer vitality of mobile device management solutions, MobileIron is also actively involved in forming strategic alliances. Just last week, it was revealed that the company formed a partnership with ForeScout Technologies, a provider of real-time network security solutions for Global 1000 enterprises and government organizations. The partnership will seamlessly integrate the MobileIron platform with ForeScout CounterACT to bring a much higher level of visibility into all actions taking place in the corporate infrastructure.
“Enterprises are becoming ‘mobile first’ organizations as they move beyond device security and focus on enabling employee productivity with mobile technology,” said Bob Tinker, CEO, MobileIron, in a statement. “Two things have to happen to make this possible. First, employee access to corporate resources has to be easy and seamless. Second, security needs to be enterprise-grade but it can’t impede the employee’s productivity.”
