This past year the mobile security management (MSM) and mobile device management (MDM) markets have grown to become extremely competitive due to increasing enterprise needs for mobile security and device management. Today, virtually every industry is adopting mobility and CIOs are seeing that it’s critical to secure the range of mobile device assets including e-mail, content, applications, data and even the hardware itself.
A known provider in this booming industry, AirWatch, has had quite a successful year in mobile security. Looking back through 2012, the company has a long list of accomplishments and highlights that it is proud of.
“We were very excited to announce a number of things in 2012. Specifically, our Secure Content Locker is the first of its kind and we made some impressive updates to the features and functionality of the app including file share integration and geofencing,” Victor Cooper, global public relations manager at AirWatch (News - Alert), told TMCnet in a recent interview.
Additionally, AirWatch saw BYOD become a highly debated trend in 2012. In fact, the company has been experiencing an increased market adoption of BYOD but also some valid concerns from companies evaluating BYOD policies in their environments.
“Once businesses recognize that BYOD is manageable with the right policies and safeguards it will be more readily adopted. Organizations need to take the time to first evaluate their unique situation and then work with experts in the field to determine their needs,” explained Cooper.
Also in 2012, AirWatch achieved an “Excellent” Overall Score in Use Cases in 2012 Critical Capabilities Report for Mobile Device Management by Gartner; was recognized as a “Leader” in the 2012 Magic Quadrant Report for MDM; was named an innovator in Forrester’s (News - Alert) Market Overviews for Cloud-Hosted MDM Solutions and Managed Services and On-Premise MDM Solutions; received the Nemertes Research PilotHouse Award for MDM as well as the 2012 Cloud Computing Excellence Award; was recognized as a Top Player in The Radicati Group 2012 MDM Quadrant; and AirWatch’s CEO John Marshall was named 2012 ATP (News - Alert) of the Year.
As for the New Year, AirWatch has announced its 2013 Connect User Conference in Barcelona at Mobile World Congress.
“We are extremely excited about our Connect user conference in Barcelona at Mobile World Congress (News - Alert) 2013. Strategic technology partnerships will be crucial in 2013 for AirWatch,” said Cooper. “Connect 2013 will be huge for us to start the year.”
In addition, AirWatch is excited about continuing to work with companies to implement comprehensive mobile strategies that leverage existing investments and integrate with current systems throughout 2013.
