Siemens Enterprise Communication has announced that its OpenScape UC Suite 2011 removes barriers to enterprise collaboration.
The OpenScape UC Suite provides communication and collaboration capabilities that can be integrated into any enterprise's UC deployment cost effectively, according to company officials.
The communications suite also offers the security enterprises demand in today’s highly demanding environments. The software is based on open standards and it offers a practical alternative to more complex, proprietary solutions.
Enterprises are looking to deploy an affordable collaboration solution. OpenScape Web Collaboration, according to company officials, offers the reliability, security and scalability that enterprises need.
Orlando Utilities Commission (OUC), which has multiple facilities in Central Florida, uses OpenScape Web Collaboration to facilitate collaboration among their employees.
“With OpenScape Web Collaboration, it's easy for employees to collaborate online and conduct business from wherever they are,” said Jeff Rose, director of information systems, OUC, in a statement.
“Unified Communication and Collaboration (UCC) can enable businesses to dramatically improve productivity, efficiency and cost savings, but many are reluctant to move forward with the overly complex, expensive, proprietary offerings,” said Chris Hummel, chief marketing officer at Siemens (News - Alert) Enterprise Communications, in a statement.
“OpenScape UC Suite means that rich, enterprise-grade collaboration is now practical and affordable for any business,” Hummel added.
The OpenScape UC Suite 2011 is an open solution that makes multimedia collaboration more affordable, easier to use and faster to deploy, according to company officials.
For multimedia collaboration, the OpenScape UC Suite also includes the new OpenScape Web Collaboration that improves productivity and reduces communication costs.
“Enterprises are turning to UCC to reduce communication costs, reduce cost of ownership, improve productivity, and sustain competitive advantage,” said Melanie Turek, industry director, enterprise communications at Frost and Sullivan.
Siemens Enterprise Communications (News - Alert) claims that OpenScape can be installed on one server, and offers “one-click collaboration,” allowing users to move seamlessly between the Web, chat and multi-party desktop video conferencing with a single mouse click. It requires no client installation.
OpenScape Web Collaboration leverages technology from FastViewer GmbH & Co., which recently entered into an agreement to be acquired by Siemens Enterprise Communications.
In a press release in March 2010, Siemens Enterprise Communication claimed that its OpenScape software suite is an attractive option for its channel partners to cut costs and improve customer service.
Partners are benefited from OpenScale’s services portfolio of Professional Services, Installation, Maintenance and Managed Services offerings, and the scale of Siemens Enterprise Communications’ network of services professionals.
