Tango, a social mobile communications platform, recently entered a partnership agreement with Iconicfuture, a digital and virtual merchandising marketplace. Tango enlisted the help of Iconicfuture to sign the digital merchandising rights for Strawberry Shortcake and Care Bears with its trademark owner and licensor, American Greetings.
As a result, individuals will now be able to send Tango Surprises, which feature the iconic Strawberry Shortcake and Care Bears brands.
"This partnership is a milestone for the company as it helps us to grow as a platform for premium content which is essential to our goal of providing our members with the ability to express themselves in unique and interesting ways," said Uri Raz, cofounder and CEO at Tango. "We're excited to enter in this long term partnership with Iconicfuture and, in doing so, take the next step in merging media and entertainment to build the most complete social mobile communications platform."
Tango allows users to make free video and audio calls, text and share pictures and video messages with the highest quality experience over 3G, 4G and Wi-Fi. Over 65 million people in 212 countries already use the service.
Tango enables millions of minutes of voice and video calls as well as text each day. The service works on iPhones, iPod touches, iPads, hundreds of Android (News - Alert) phones and tablets, Windows Phones and PCs.
"We are delighted to be able to connect branded content from American Greetings with a social platform such as Tango," said Sharon Bennett, SVP of Business Development and Licensing at Iconicfuture. "At Iconicfuture, we bring together companies that complement each other through innovative products and a mutual vision."
In related news, ICOA (News - Alert), Inc. recently announced that by mutual agreement between the parties, ICOA's acquisition of a majority interest in Tango Software Corporation announced in July has been unwound, effective immediately. Due to ICOA's inability at this time to raise the necessary development funds required to complete development of the Payment Processing Gateway (News - Alert), the parties felt it was in the best interest of both companies to terminate their relationship so as not to affect contracts that were already in place with Tango.
