Dialogic Inc., a provider of communications technologies, announced SoTel Systems (News - Alert) as the distributor of the DiaStar Server (DSS) product in North America.

Winner of 2009 Communications Solutions Product of the Year Award from TMC (News - Alert), the DiaStar Server enables open source developers to create applications for fixed and mobile phones, such as IVVR systems, video surveillance systems, video gateways, mobile advertising and banking, multimedia social networking and basic video call completion. In April 2010, the company added new features and capabilities to DiaStar Server with the integration of power and flexibility of the LumenVox (News - Alert) ASR solution. DSS is compliant with the Woomera open protocol and can operate in conjunction with any project or product that implements a corresponding Woomera client. The DSS allows developers access to video conferencing, video processing, call progress analysis, SS7 and SIGTRAN signaling, while developing in their native development environment.

The company is of the opinion that DSS fits perfectly within its expertise by providing open source developers with a new range of signaling, media, audio, and video transcoding services to complement and enhance the Asterisk (News - Alert) and FreeSWITCH platforms.
