Dialogic Brings Mobile Video Further Into Brazilian Market

By Stefania Viscusi, Assignment Desk Editor

Telephony solutions provider Dialogic Corporation has announced it’s moving farther into the Brazilian market with the signing of a distribution agreement to allow a Brazilian value-added distributor to sell most lines of their Dialogic (News - Alert) products.

The new distribution agreement between Dialogic and Livitech da Bahia Industria e Comercio Ltda, also known as “WDC Networks”, will specifically focus on selling the company’s video and mobile value-added service enabling products.

In addition to offering their products in Brazil, the new agreement will allow Dialogic to expand its training capabilities in Brazil including hosting a School of Video event in October together with WDC for developers and system integrators.

According to Giovanni Punzo, Director of Sales & Services, Central America and Latin America Region at Dialogic, “Educating our new video ecosystem is key to successfully creating a ‘new’ community of developers and integrators that can guarantee superior video technology knowledge.”

As per the agreement, Dialogic will specifically offer their Dialogic Integrated Media Gateways, Dialogic Media Processing Boards, Dialogic Host Media Processing Products and Dialogic Vision Family of Servers and Gateways for the Brazilian market.

In addition to adding support for mobile applications for entertainment, gaming and enhanced messaging, these offerings, Vanderlei Rigateri, Managing Director at WDC Networks said will help the company to expand their market coverage to medium-sized service providers, call centers as well as enterprise customers through Dialogic products  that complement WDC’s video surveillance resellers.

Just last week at TMC’s (News - Alert) ITEXPO West 2009, Dialogic made headlines with the introduction of
Project DiaStar, an open source project to create software that allows open source developers to access portions of the Dialogic product portfolio.

In addition, the company introduced its first software developed from Project DiaStar -- DiaStar Server -- which acts as multi-function peripheral that can be implemented as a media gateway, signaling gateway or media server.
