Aryaka (News - Alert), a provider of cloud-based WAN Optimization- as-a-Service solution, announced that SL Power Electronics replaced its MPLS deployment with Aryaka’s WAN Optimization- as-a-Service.
This initiative is expected to help SL Power, specializing in the design and manufacturer of industrial and medical power supplies, speed applications for improved file sharing and increasing productivity.
It was revealed in a release that SL Power engineers in mainland China were facing problems when attempting long haul access to critical business applications like SolidWorks, centralized at the U.S. headquarters.
The presence of dedicated MPLS links did nothing to improve application performance and made file sharing slow because of high latency, an unstable network and other bandwidth issues. WAN optimization appliances may have served the purpose but are expensive and complicated.
In such a scenario the cloud was a better alternative and the company chose Aryaka’s WAN Optimization- as-a-Service solution as there was no need for new IT infrastructure at remote locations.
Greg Wade, SL Power’s IT director, said, “Once we deployed the Aryaka solution, we saw a dramatic increase in application response time -- from hours to seconds. The Aryaka stable core network enabled our engineers in China to more quickly access their day-to-day business applications from California for improved productivity to get our products to market faster.”
SL Power will benefit from the features delivered by Aryaka such as 90 percent CIFS compression, 60 percent application acceleration, 80 percent peak compression rate and stable core latency between locations.
Ajit Gupta (News - Alert), founder, president and CEO of Aryaka, said, “It’s all about the simplicity we provide, in bringing employees, data and applications closer to each other from around the world. As more companies expand globally and use resources from different economies, they leverage Aryaka to cut costs and avoid investing in costly and complex appliances and dedicated links.”
Aryaka has enabled network optimization by speeding cloud application delivery for globally distributed enterprises. The company’s fully operational and optimized network delivers innovative ways for businesses to connect, communicate and collaborate. Aryaka has advanced enterprise adoption of the cloud as a new delivery model for compute, storage and network resources.
This announcement follows Aryaka’s recognition by GigaOM as a Structure 50 company for being the world’s first WAN Optimization- as-a-Service solution which will enhance cloud computing.
