When you were young, one of your teachers probably trotted out the old adage “Tell me and I forget; show me and I remember; involve me and I understand.” In your case, it was probably in regards to learning how to parallel park or do long division, but in the case of Corporate Risk Solutions, Inc., the old saying is being directly applied to NERC (News - Alert) compliance.
CRSI has launched its new computer-based security awareness program in an effort to move above and beyond standard security awareness programs by focusing on personalization, creativity, and client satisfaction, all while meeting NERC compliance requirements. The company’s newest awareness and training programs will be coming soon, but until then, the CRSI is offering sneak previews and free trials.
Between now and the end of September, the company will offer the use of its security awareness posters for no charge. The posters feature security messages and can be downloaded and printed for display in all areas of a utility company’s offices or facilities. CSRI is also offering to send email blasts that provide up-to-date security messages, including specialized reports.
One other way in which CSRI is hoping to get utility companies involved in NERC compliance initiatives is by deploying a series of security training programs. These programs will address cyber security incident response training and critical cyber asset recovery training. This will lead to a full certification program which the company intends to roll out in 2013.
As a final step in this process, CSRI wishes to receive feedback and comments from participants in these programs. Its stated goal is to build awareness about NERC compliance issues by making utility companies active participants and, if those companies have ideas or suggestions, they are welcome.
