TeliaSonera Q4 net income increases

TeliaSonera, a provider of network access and telecommunications services, has reported a net income attributable to the owners of the parent of SEK6.88 billion, or SEK1.59 per share, for the fourth quarter ended December 31, 2012, compared to SEK5.1 billion, or SEK1.18 per share, for the same quarter ended December 31, 2011.
Net sales for the fourth quarter ended December 31, 2012 were SEK27.07 billion, compared to SEK27.26 billion for the same quarter ended December 31, 2011.
Net income attributable to the owners of the parent for the year ended December 31, 2012 was SEK19.89 billion, or SEK4.59 per share, compared to SEK18.39 billion, or SEK4.21 per share, for the year ended December 31, 2011.
Net sales for the year ended December 31, 2012 were SEK104.9 billion, compared to SEK107.8 billion for the year ended December 31, 2011.
Lars Nyberg, President and CEO, said: "Trends improved in the fourth quarter which resulted in a revenue growth of 1.2 percent in local currencies for the full year, slightly ahead of our guidance. All countries in Eurasia are again delivering positive revenue growth in the fourth quarter, resulting in a total growth of more than 16 percent.
"Mobility Services saw higher equipment sales but also better trends in service revenues in several markets. Within Broadband Services, the growth of our fiber customer base accelerated towards the end of the year and we saw an encouraging improvement in our customer operations with a significant reduction of unwanted calls."
