Red Hat (News - Alert) is a company that is synonymous with open source solutions ranging from hybrid clouds to network attached storage. Recently, it announced that its Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization version 3.1 is now certified for SAP (News - Alert) business applications that run on Red Hat Enterprise Linux.
This marks a continued initiative by the company to emphasize virtualization and expand its certifications with SAP. The two companies have been working together for 15 years in an effort to bring choice to enterprises around the world.
Red Hat sees this relationship with SAP as a huge advantage. “Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization delivers industry-leading performance and scalability,” Paul Cormier, president of products and technologies at Red Hat, said in a statement. “The advancements made in our 3.1 release today are designed to especially benefit customers running large mission-critical workloads like SAP applications. The scalability and performance gains create an even stronger price/performance advantage, and new features like storage live migration and dynamic resource allocation offer a better user experience.”
Red Hat has achieved leading performance results on the two-tier SAP Sales and Distribution standard application benchmark with Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization and its KVM Hypervisor running the SAP ERP 6.0 application. It has also attained the seven highest SPECvirt_sc2010 benchmarks.
Version 3.1 of Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization is now available worldwide for production use with SAP solutions.
