Network Diagramming Leader OPNET Readies for Cisco Live

In just a few weeks, thousands of IT and communications professionals will gather together at Cisco Live, a four-day event that offers a combination of education and training on the latest technologies and trends, and OPNET Technologies (News - Alert) is one participant that cannot wait for the event to roll around on July 10.

“OPNET is a regular exhibitor at Cisco (News - Alert) Live,” Susan Cole, vice president of marketing and business development at OPNET told TMCnet in a recent interview. “Cisco Live is a great event to engage with IT and communications professionals and showcase OPNET’s solutions for network and application performance management.”

OPNET has been a leading provider of solutions for application and network performance management. In particular, the company has emerged as a leader in the network diagramming space through its NetMapper solution.

This year, OPNET will head to Las Vegas to participate in Cisco Live, an event that offers a variety of educational lectures, activities and networking opportunities. This year the event offers a variety of keynote speakers from industry and thought leaders including Cisco Chairman and CEO John Chambers (News - Alert) and actor William Shatner.

When asked what OPNET is most looking forward to at Cisco Live, Cole said, “OPNET has long been recognized as a market leader in IT operations. In 2008, OPNET broke new ground with the introduction of NetMapper. NetMapper has been extremely popular at Cisco Live since it solves the ubiquitous problem of maintaining accurate network diagrams. IT professionals visit our booth because they expect innovative solutions that deliver rapid ROI. This year will be no different.”

She added, “What really sets OPNET apart is the breadth of our solution portfolio that extensively covers the areas of network performance management and application performance management. Cisco Live attendees can visit OPNET’s booth, No. 1261, to learn more about OPNET’s solutions. Our staff will host a series of live product demonstrations and discussions with OPNET product experts.”

Visitors can also view a demonstration of NetMapper in action – generating enterprise-class, engineering-quality network diagrams that expedite network troubleshooting. OPNET will also be presenting at the Cisco Partner Theater on “High Definition Application and Network Performance Management.” Intuit (News - Alert), one of OPNET’s customers, will present a case study on its use of OPNET solutions.

OPNET will be hosting its own annual user conference, OPNETWORK 2011, in Washington D.C. from Aug. 29 to Sept. 1. OPNETWORK is the largest event of its kind, attracting thought leaders from industry, government, and academic communities all over the world. The event attracted more than 1800 registrations in 2010.
