nPulse in Pact with cPacket to Enhance Data Center Network Visibility, Real Time Troubleshooting

cPacket (News - Alert) Networks, which provides systems and technologies for Pervasive Network Intelligence, announced a partnership with nPulse Technologies, a provider of high performance packet capture, replay, and analysis, to bring the most accurate analytics and highest level of applications visibility to Network Operations Centers (NOCs) and Security Operations Centers (SOCs).
Under the terms of the partnership, cPacket will combine the line-rate L2-L7 complete packet inspection filtering and precision time-stamping capabilities with nPulse's 20Gbps HammerHead Packet Capture & Replay system to help operators of highly sensitive data centers to respond in real time to operational and security issues that threaten service continuity.
The combined solution delivers unique capabilities for accurate forensic analysis and trending, root-cause analysis with fine-grained history, post-event troubleshooting, and applications performance monitoring. It helps maintain the competitive edge of large, fast, complex networks such as those in financial services, high frequency trading, or high-performance distributed computing applications.

cPacket products provide highly accurate hardware timestamps with complete L2-L7 packet and flow inspection and filtering at full line rate. The time-stamping and clock synchronization ensure deterministic accuracy under any traffic conditions, company officials said.

Recently cPacket announced it has received an SBIR grant of $1 million from the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE). The grant will be utilized to develop a 100 Gbps (gigabit per second) scalable Network Intrusion (News
- Alert) Detection System.
