GetApp.com, a free online marketplace that helps small to mid-sized businesses evaluate the right business apps for their company, has identified OpManager as a leading Network Performance Management solution from ManageEngine (News - Alert).

The evaluation revealed that the OpManager, a server monitoring application, helps administrators provide uninterrupted IT services by ensuring high uptime for the critical components of the IT infrastructure.

"We are delighted that GetApp.com, a reference for businesses searching cloud-based applications, has identified OpManager as a leading Network Performance Management solution for this market segment and has highlighted our ease of use and automation capabilities as a differentiator within this space,” Dev Anand, product manager for OpManager at ManageEngine, a division of Zoho Corp. said.

Eval Source (News - Alert), which analyzes software technology, reviewed the OpManager on behalf of GetApp.com.

Together they carried out a complete technical and functional analysis and assessed the capacity of the product to address business problems. The software analysts used a pre- prepared evaluation script to analyze and assess key functionality of the OpManager and to validate the extent of the vendor's claims.

According to the evaluation, ManageEngine had established its leadership position in the Network Performance Management software landscape and its solution had extended the NPM space to include smaller organizations by making it affordable.

Configured properly, OpManager can be programmed to alert and balance excess traffic loads to other servers and also handle and distribute the spate of new traffic. As ManageEngine has a presence in 200 plus countries, OpManager can support customers worldwide.

In other industry news, OPNET Technologies (News - Alert) – a provider of network diagramming solutions – shared that revenue for the third fiscal quarter, ended Dec. 31, 2011, was $46 million, compared to $39.7 million for the same quarter in the prior fiscal year. Other stats were that diluted earnings per share for the third quarter of fiscal 2012 were $0.23, compared to $0.19 for the same quarter in the prior fiscal year. Moreover, OPNET reported a quarterly dividend of $0.12 per share, which represents one quarter of the company's fiscal 2012 annual dividend target of $0.48, payable on March 28, 2012 to stockholders of record as of the close of business on March 14, 2012.

“We are very pleased to report strong financial performance, and a third consecutive quarter of record operating income,” Marc A. Cohen, OPNET’s chairman and CEO, said in a statement. “We also achieved records in product revenue and maintenance revenue, which allowed us to increase our operating income 48 percent over the same quarter last fiscal year. In addition to achieving total record revenue, we increased our deferred revenue $5.7 million from last quarter. Our performance was driven by year over year growth in revenue from corporate enterprise customers. Our strong quarterly performance allowed us to further expand our operating margin to 18 percent.”
