GetApp.com, a marketplace for online business software, has released a complete evaluation of ManageEngine OpManager.
ManageEngine (News - Alert) OpManage is a Network Performance Management (NPM) product – a complete, end-to-end network monitoring software that offers customizable dashboards and advanced fault and performance management functionality across critical IT resources such as routers, WAN links, switches, firewalls, and VoIP call paths.
This NPM product offers a single console solution, making it easier for organizations of all sizes to manage the complete IT network, according to ManageEngine’s officials.
“GetApp.com, a reference for businesses searching cloud-based applications, has identified OpManager as a leading Network Performance Management solution and has highlighted our widespread functionality, ease of use and automation capabilities as a differentiator within this space,” said Dev Anand, director of product management for NPM at ManageEngine, a division of Zoho Corp.
The product was reviewed by Eval-Source (News - Alert), a company offering analysis of software technology. The software analysts reviewed the product based on their custom evaluation script to validate or disprove the vendor’s claims.
The script was specifically prepared to assess key functionalities and for an impartial analysis of the comprehensive network management solution. GetApp.com and Eval-Source assessed the business problems addressed by the product, the targeted market, the pricing model as well as they also carried out a complete functional and technical analysis.
After completing the assessment, GetApp.com and Eval-Source concluded that the NPM product previously targeted large and medium size companies as the pricing of the product made it unattainable for small size businesses. ManageEngine, however, has generated the ability for SMBs to have this functionality.
Calling it a comprehensive network management product, GetApp.com and Eval-Source noted that OpManager provides a comprehensive network management product that provides a holistic view of the IT organization, including fault and performance management, and provides visibility into routers, switches, firewalls, WAN RTT links, VOIP links, wireless access points, multi-server platforms -- Windows, UNIX, Linux, HP-UX, IBM (News
- Alert) AIX and Solaris -- virtual servers -- VMware ESX and ESXi/MS Hyper-V -- and environments, load balancers, printers, temperature sensors, and other IT components within the network.
In addition, they concluded that businesses of all sizes will find OpManager useful for capacity planning and as a tool with which to monitor spending and creation of KPU's to maximize IT efficiencies through best ITIL practices.
And, thanks to the reach of ManageEngine, with a presence in more than 200 countries, OpManager can support customers worldwide, according to the evaluation report.
Anand said that OpManager is really the best network management solution that's poised to replace the expensive legacy frameworks, such as HP OpenView, IBM Tivoli and CA Unicenter/Spectrum (News - Alert).
Last year in October, ManageEngine launched three new products designed for MSPs and IT administrators.
