Fonality Taps Sonus for Stellar Network Performance

Fonality (News - Alert) has entered into a partnership with the IP communications vendor Sonus Networks to enhance the performance, reliability and capability of its cloud-hosted VoIP and Unified Communications (UC) network.
Sonus' SBC 5200 session border controllers and NetScore, a network performance analyzer, will help Fonality to scale and grow effectively, increase operational efficiencies of its cloud-hosted network, reduce operating cost, and maximize ROI, according to company officials.
According to Infonetics (News - Alert) Research, the Sonus SBC 5200 supports 64,000 sessions on a single server, which is more than twice the capacity of the leading SBC competitor.

- Alert) delivers any media to any device in a secure and reliable manner and by integrating the Sonus solution, Fonality's network will be able to accommodate increased demands for SIP-based UC and contact center application features. Fonality offers small and mid-size businesses comprehensive UC and cloud-hosted VoIP solutions at about 43 percent less on average over a three-year period than legacy solutions from leading companies and its HUD for Mobile was a 2011 Internet Telephony (News - Alert) magazine 'Product of the Year' award winner.
In oher news, Sonus Networks has partnered with John Wiley & Sons, Inc., the publisher of the For Dummies book series, to produce Session border Controllers for Dummies, Sonus Special Edition.
