SevOne has released its fifth version of the SevOne Performance Appliance Solution (SevOne PAS). It was announced at the recent Cisco (News
- Alert) Live London event.
The new release is a major milestone for the company – which began in 2005 – when it comes to Network Performance Management.
The latest version has many features. For example, it has wizards to assist users as they make custom reports or visuals with ease. It also provides maps that show the status of elements in the network. When it comes to metrics, the new version offers data representation that is extremely accurate. Other monitoring solutions are also provided in the latest version. These include: Cisco Medianet, Ethernet backhaul monitoring, IMS, LTE (News - Alert), VM Monitoring enhancements (vMotion), and VoIP monitoring.
“SevOne is really on the edge of all these technologies,” Vess Bakalov, SevOne’s CTO, said during an interview with Telecom TV (News - Alert), which took place during the Cisco Live London. “We can provide a total view of the infrastructure of a company and avoid … what is known in the industry as swivel-chair management – when you have 10 different OSS and you have to move around and try and find out which one is showing you the problem today.”
“Bringing all the information in a single interface … in an IT infrastructure performance management system allows the user to derive so much more value out of their data,” Bakalov added.
“With this new release, SevOne is building on existing successes in deploying massively scalable, integrated performance management to move the solution into a primary operations monitoring role as a performance manager of managers,” Jim Frey, managing research director at Enterprise Management Associates, added in a recent company statement.
“Our newest release of SevOne increases our competitive advantage by providing real and immediate business value to customers. The new reporting capabilities in SevOne v5 enable our customers to create new visualizations and dashboards with minimal effort,” Michael Phelan, CEO of SevOne, explained in the statement. “And as we expand our footprint in the financial services and telecommunications market, customers with low latency monitoring requirements will get the granularity required via High Precision Metrics to analyze, alert and report on sub-second metrics, ensuring the best execution and customer experience.”
SevOne provides a quick and scalable solution for real-time network monitoring, troubleshooting and performance reporting, the company said in a recent press release. Government agencies, enterprises, as well as cloud and communications service providers can use the solution to ensure applications, networks and servers perform at peak levels, the company adds.
In a recent review, TMCnet’s Susan Campbell said that many benefits come about by using SevOne products. The ease of deployment being one, and PAS is considered the industry’s quickest and most flexible tool for data collection, monitoring, and reporting, she adds.
