- Alert) Defensio at the DEMO conference. In a press release, the company said that the new solution incorporates social networking security features that are specifically designed to protect corporate brand presence and properties on the social Web.
More and more businesses today have a strategic presence on Facebook (News - Alert), Twitter and likes. Their vulnerability to malicious attacks is also on an all time high. These attacks can even turn the benefits of a social media presence and page into a reputation and liability issue as well as a burden to administer.
According to Websense, its Defensio technology can provide the companies with a comprehensive social media security solution without compromising with the employee productivity or loss of confidential data. The Defensio technology protects companies' brands, their reputation, their customers, and prospects on their Facebook page by analyzing and classifying user-generated content posted to their pages, the company explained in a press release.
It is not only complicated to effectively manage the social networking security manually, it is also time consuming and can be expensive. But Defensio technology allows organizations automatically manage their corporate social networking security and content. Thus it helps protect a company’s brand in the web simply and affordably.
Based on the Websense Advanced Classification Engine (ACE) and the Websense ThreatSeeker Network, new Defensio includes in-depth analysis and protection for embedded photos and videos on Facebook pages and news feeds. Thus corporate Defensio users are protected from photos and video with hidden malicious links. Defensio automatically removes unsavory content, which protects fans and brand reputation. It reduces the costly manual burden on marketing and security teams who previously had to remove each piece of comment spam by hand, and investigate every URL in a comment or post for security threats. Defensio's automated, real-time process provides real-world brand reputation and liability "insurance" against malicious or inappropriate content, Websense explained in a media release.
