Australians Drop Traditional Remote Controls for RedEye Remote for iPhone, iPod touch and iPad

By Carolyn J Dawson, TMCnet Contributor

ThinkFlood, the manufacturer of RedEye remotes for iPhone (News - Alert), iPod touch, iPad, and leading home theater and two-channel audio importer TotalQ has announced a strategic distribution partnership to address consumer and reseller demand in Australia. ThinkFlood designs and develops remote control hardware and software. Its first commercial application, RedEye turns the iPhone, iPod touch or iPad into a personal remote that enables control of virtually any home entertainment device from any room in the home.

All RedEye universal remote control products offer many features and functionality which were previously available only in remotes costing several times more than what RedEye currently costs.

TotalQ is now Australia's exclusive distributor of RedEye remote, an advanced multi-room, multi-controller system; and RedEye mini, the portable way to control virtually everything from your iPhone, iPod touch and iPad. TotalQ designs and manufactures custom electronic solutions for residential and corporate applications.

Rob Sanders, managing director of TotalQ, said that Australians have been using RedEye universal remote control accessories for iPhone and iPod touch since the end of last year, and that TotalQ really appreciates what ThinkFlood is doing. He also added that carrying the RedEye line means that their dealers and installers will have both the best AV equipment, and also the smartest ways to control it.

Adam Shapiro, ThinkFlood founder and vice president of operations, said that Australia has always been well-known as a test market for the latest consumer electronics hence it was not surprising to see the early traction with RedEye product there. Inspite of that, going beyond the early-adopter crowd requires strong local marketing, and ThinkFlood was thrilled to expand their presence in Australia with a manufacturer and distributor as reputable as TotalQ.

RedEye will be available to Australian dealers beginning in April. RedEye mini will be available this spring. With a fan base of over 4,000 and still growing, RedEye is the most popular remote control on Facebook (News - Alert).
