Invest Ottawa (formerly Ottawa Centre for Regional Innovation) has selected Netcelerate to provide voice and data communications solutions.
Officials with Netcelerate said that the solution consists of a hosted PBX (News - Alert) telephone system as well as fiber connectivity, while featuring the ability to seamlessly add, move or change extensions and phone lines to meet Invest Ottawa's growth demands.
"Netcelerate is providing Invest Ottawa with a communications solution that best meets our needs for flexibility and scalability; it also allows us to obtain significant operational cost savings with respect to communications for our organization, while bringing us sizeable productivity gains," said Bruce Lazenby, chief executive officer of Invest Ottawa, in a statement.
"In moving to our new central location, we wanted to take the opportunity to create a showcase using the latest technology, and we are excited to partner with an organization like Netcelerate," said Lazenby.
Jack Hunt, chief executive officer of Netcelerate said that being selected by Invest Ottawa is an encouraging validation of the growth and success of the company in the high-tech industry in Ottawa.
"We're excited to be a part of the Invest Ottawa initiative – both as a supplier to the organization, as well as being representative of the Ottawa entrepreneurial activity which the Invest Ottawa organization is championing," said Hunt.
Jacek Jarmoc, vice president, sales and marketing at Netcelerate, said that the PBX company is very pleased to provide a solution that offers the cost-savings and longevity that will best meet the needs of a not-for-profit organization like Invest Ottawa.
Company officials said that unique Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) solutions like those provided by Netcelerate are well-suited to organizations like Invest Ottawa who can benefit from the multi-tenant capability; which is the ability to rent telecommunication services along with rental space.
According to company officials, Netcelerate will provide telecommunication services to Invest Ottawa under a managed services contract to enable simplified communications, increased functionality and improved communications efficiency for Invest Ottawa.
Last May, Netcelerate announced that Century 21 in Ottawa selected Netcelerate's customized hosted PBX telephony solution. With this custom solution, if one location is unable to answer a call, the call will simultaneously ring at a second or third Century 21 location until the call is answered. This type of functionality is only available with a VoIP telephone system like Netcelerate's Hosted PBX solution.
