Churches, Schools Benefit From Predictive Dialers

By David Sims, TMCnet Contributing Editor

If you work for a nonprofit such as a school or church, you might be interested to see how predictive dialer technology can help in ways you probably haven’t considered.

Many nonprofit organizations already use a predictive dialer. As this document states, churches and other religious institutions traditionally see their members only about once a week, “which can make it challenging to contact parishioners with new information and updates.” With a predictive dialer however, you can contact these valued people whenever you need to.

And while schools see their students more often than that, they usually need to get information not to just the student but to the parents, and sometimes “you have to give this to your parents by tomorrow because it’s really important.” This information might not always be the most memorable, compelling instructions that can be given to a kid to remember and repeat correctly.

This dialer technology standardizes the message, requires no sign-up or subscription fees and even can deliver the messages to voicemail if the person doesn’t pick up. It’s an easy and cost-effective way for churches to communicate motivational messages or prayer requests to members, update group meeting times for youth groups, choirs, ushers, readers, Sunday school or committees and schedule changes.

For schools, this solution can alert parents and students about school closings, delayed openings, events, or emergencies. It communicates teacher meetings and conference requests directly with parents, and informs clubs and sports teams of meeting time changes or other updates.

Predictive dialers offer the ability to greatly increase efficiency. The company SpitFire boasts on its website that its software is five times faster than manually dialing, which means more talk time and less time needed to make these crucial time-sensitive calls.
