Inform Students and Parents about Snow Days Using a Predictive Dialer

By Jamie Epstein, TMCnet Web Editor

A predictive dialer is a computer-based dialing system that has the ability to quickly make multiple outbound calls, pulling from a database of phone numbers that connect to a variety of communication and telephone lines.

With the snow season rapidly approaching (if not already here) across the United States, the Tulsa Public Schools has added two snow days to this year's calendar as a preemptive strike, due to last year’s enormous amount of snow and extremely unsafe road conditions in the community.

To inform both students and parents about days when school will not be in session, Chris Payne said in a statement in a recent article, "We've got a pretty solid plan in place already. I think the biggest thing is to make sure that we start our preparedness efforts early," he commented.

An innovative technological solution that could easily help these schools is a predictive dialer, as there are many households that need to receive this crucial information without delay. Payne added, “We do have that capability."

SpitFire is a company that powers an on-premise predictive dialer which allows for the dialer to either be loaded on an existing server or the company can provider one for as little as $995. There are countless advantages for on premise predictive dialers when compared to hosted solutions including a much higher level of security within the database, the ability to keep your most important confidential material safe at all times; the flexibility to use and save LD cost with all types of phone lines including SIP, Ti, PRI and Analog; complete control of all aspects of your predictive dialer such as system settings, dial ratios, drop rate control, access to the do not call registry and reporting; and the ability to interface with any CRM or vertical market solution.
