The CyanogenMod team has recently launched CyanogenMod 7.2 Release Candidate, the latest version of its solution which is based on the open source code of Android (News - Alert) version 2.3.7

This release integrates some of the nifty transition and rotation effects that one can enjoy on ICS.  Boasting a wide array of new features including Ice Cream Sandwich visuals and a predictive phone dialer, these capabilities are similar to those found on HTC’s (News - Alert) Sense UI and Samsung’s TouchWiz UI, which searches your contacts for matching names or numbers as you dial.

A predictive dialer serves as an extremely important element utilized by call centers and businesses alike, as it can efficiently dial a list of preset telephone numbers and connects answered calls to the agents on the other end almost instantly.

Moreover, the addition of these rotation effects will provide some comfort to the multitude of impatient users waiting for the CM9 upgrade. CyanogenMod 7.2 Release Candidate also has a number of bug fixes, plus advanced options for quiet hours, calendar reminders, and more.

At this time, the solution supports over 20 new devices including the Samsung Galaxy Ace, Mini, and Epic; LG Optimus Black, 3D, Sol, Hub, Pro, and One; Motorola (News - Alert) Atrix; Sony Ericsson Xperia Live, Pro, and Active; and the Huawei U8150l. Support for Bluetooth GPS dongles, increased mouse support and USB keyboards are also comprised within this robust solution.

In related industry news, TMCnet reported that Landmark Home Solutions has begun to leverage SpitFire’s predictive dialer after realizing the many benefits it could bring to the company including increasing revenue and raising the bar on customer support. To read the full report, click here.
