Predictive Dialer to the Rescue: Schools Leverage Technology to Get the Word Out on Illness

By Jamie Epstein, TMCnet Web Editor

Predictive dialers can be used in many ways, from political candidates targeting voters and informing them about their views on an array of subjects and retailers advertising a new sale to schools delivering important messages that parents must be informed of.

As the school year is now in full swing, so are illnesses and just recently, in Alton, Ill. it was discovered that a student at Alton High School was suffering from whooping cough. This prompted the school’s Principal, Russ Tepen, to let parents know right away of the situation, leveraging this innovative dialer technology that powers the vital information to a large group of individuals without delay.

“We sent out a (predictive) dialer which is a telephone message with all of the information the parents need to know. That was sent out via e-mail and telephone service. We have hand sanitizer in every room in the building cafeteria our offices,” according to Tepen.

As old booster shots’ effectiveness are not lifelong, many students are susceptible to this sickness and new mandates even require Illinois students in the sixth and ninth grades to receive another shot.

This highlighted case above is just one situation in which this offering was used to raise the bar on communication between the school system and parents. SpitFire, a major provider in this space, is touted as working side by side with healthcare providers in order to maximize productivity and grow profits.

Moses Garcia from the Heller Group, a healthcare organization located in Houston, TX stated, “We purchased the Spitfire Pro Several years ago and it has worked great for our call center, with the versatility of having remote agents using VoIP and on site makes this system one of the best out there on the market.”

He added, “We are able to use the system for outbound calling and do third party transfers without dropping any calls and perform manual call backs while remaining logged into the system.”

The company’s Enterprise Predictive Dialer, or SEP, comes complete with all the essentials needed to interact with multiple people at one time. With a pre-loaded list of numbers, SEP can be set up to automatically make outbound calls and connects the answered calls to agents that are anxiously awaiting the opportunity to spread the word about the specific company.
